German Training for Job Interviews

You know what you can do professionally – but in a German job interview, you may sometimes lack the right words. This one-to-one online training helps you present yourself in German calmly, clearly and professionally – during a job change, when starting in Austria or Germany, or if you want to work with German-speaking employers and customers.

One-to-one German training – focused on your job interviews

Many people who work with me manage in everyday life in German. It becomes more difficult when, in an interview, they need to explain their CV, describe their strengths, or respond spontaneously to follow-up questions. This is exactly where the training starts: we prepare your job interviews step by step until your answers feel more confident and composed.

I am Ferenc Andrási, a native speaker of German with a technical background (Höhere technische Lehranstalt, Engineer), solid linguistic expertise, and many years of experience in adult education as a German trainer. For many years, I have supported international professionals from industry, healthcare, engineering, IT, administration, and services as they enter German-speaking companies. This also includes targeted preparation for job interviews – on site, online, or by phone. This combination of professional understanding, teaching experience, and my own experience learning foreign languages shapes my training.

Your training – tailored to you
The training is based on your specific situation and the position you are applying for. Typical focus areas:
Structuring your self-presentation (“Tell me something about yourself…”)
Describing professional experience, projects and qualifications clearly and precisely
Presenting motivation, reasons for change and goals clearly in German
Handling typical questions (strengths, weaknesses, conflicts, mistakes, difficult situations)
Asking follow-up questions, clarifying uncertainties, and politely requesting details
If needed: brief written preparation, e.g. an email to HR or a short presentation

Your progress
You receive clear feedback, targeted corrections, and tasks that relate directly to your planned interviews. This gradually turns “I hope they understand me” into a confident feeling: “I know what I want to say – and I can express it in German.

How we approach the training

Two steps are decisive: sorting your profile linguistically – and repeatedly practising typical interview situations.

Understanding & Structuring

Organising the basics, sharpening your profile

At the start, we clarify your current situation: previous positions, qualifications, target role. From this, we develop a clear, easy-to-remember profile in German. We work with sentence patterns for your CV, tasks, achievements, and goals. The aim is a clear “building-block system” that allows you to adapt your answers depending on the interviewer.

Applying & Consolidating

Routine for your job interviews

In the next step, we transfer these building blocks into real interview situations: video or phone interview, interview with technical managers, second interview. We practise typical questions, follow-up questions and short role plays – with a focus on clear wording, a calm pace and appropriate phrasing. Repetition builds routine that holds up even under pressure.

What we can train

Focus areas that can be combined depending on your goal – from the first introduction to the second or third interview.

Self-presentation and brief introduction

Talking about yourself – clear and structured

You develop a short, coherent introduction in German: who you are, what you can do, and what you are looking for. We refine phrasing until it fits you and you sound not memorised, but authentic.

Presenting professional experience and projects

Making competence tangible

We work through examples from your day-to-day work: tasks, responsibilities, achievements, difficult situations. You learn to describe these examples so that your qualification becomes clear – without searching for words for too long or losing your thread.

Explaining motivation and reasons for change

Why this job?

You formulate clearly why you decided on a position, a company, or a relocation. Together we find wording that is honest and still professional.

Handling critical questions

Staying calm, answering clearly

We practise questions about gaps in your CV, mistakes, conflicts, or sensitive topics. The aim is to remain factual, show responsibility and communicate confidently.

Conducting phone and video interviews confidently

Sounding confident online

Many interviews take place by video or phone. We practise opening, small talk, follow-up questions and closing – with particular attention to clarity, pace and pronunciation.
